Today, during the presentation of the governmental report on the draft Tax Code after the nation-wide discussion, Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, emphasised that the public discussion revealed that no expert, businessman or politician upheld the broadening of the authorities of the tax institutions in the part of enterprises activity monitoring. "It is one of the principal problems, as the tax code discussion changed into the talks about suspension of possible transformation of tax institutions into the specialized subdivisions in charge of monitoring the tax payers," the Deputy Chairman explained.
M. Tomenko stated that after the discussion, the Government and the Parliament had actually returned to the situation of the passed months. "The resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the adoption of the Tax Code was rejected, and the Cabinet of Ministers is to bring forward a new draft soon", he declared.
Hence, M. Tomenko addressed the Minister of Finance with a request to announce the names and dismiss those representatives of the Tax Administration "who returned the issues of the Tax Code with the peculiarities discussed six months ago."
